Hey everyone, hope all is doing well in this week so far. Today is going to be a good day for those who have been waiting for the Jamiroquai Megamix as I have an early draft of the set in the flesh posted. Honestly, I’ve been trying time and time again to get a good draft of this set and it has been next to impossible. First, I should say that this was probably one of the most difficult mixes as the majority of Jamiroquai’s songs were prime time songs. I had a similar problem with the Madonna Megamix and often times they’re usually difficult to put together because usually these songs weren’t meant to be played one after another. The way I curbed this problem was to reach deep into the record stash and find all the remixes which thankfully had a great deal of variety. Jamiroquai remix work spans quite a wide spectrum as notable artists such as Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and Tom Belton just to name a couple. Now, this is an early set which isn’t representative of the Megamix that I’ll official post in the near future. Next is the introduction of a new series that I’m going to be working on along with the DU8SHOW and that is called ‘Art of House’. Basically, I’ve been re-listening to all the tracks that I have and I’m starting to compile special mixes which has mostly underground songs and commercial songs with underground work done to them. I wanted to have a nice set of exclusive mixes where I specialized in the various sounds of house throughout its history and at times warp to the future with some new music thrown into the mix. In the end I’ll be moving towards an special collection of a series of mixes that will be very unique. Stay tuned!
