Party for the Weekend: The DU8SHOW Podcast B - Funky House Essentials!

lady by orochimatthew (deviantart.com)

Hey party people! In time for the weekend I'm bringing a nice funky house mix today with a great mix of the essentials that are sure to keep you dancing in the best way possible. The DU8SHOW Podcast B is a Funky House compilation that is great for a relaxing drive home or to get yourself in a partying mood for the early evening. Let's get started:

I've started it out with one of my favorite house-mixed artists, Jamiroquai with Blow My Mind, a Dr. Kucho staple remixing Bamboola Production's Bahia, a rare-gem by little know group; Flanders bringing By My Side, some Gregor Salto and DJ Madskills treatment of the hit Very Nice People track called I'll Make You High. Then we bring in some latin flavor through Knee Deep with a remix of the Dubtribe Sound System's hit; Do It Now, then we go into a nice Dawn Tallman gem called I'm Over It, then we have an amazing Fred Everything remix of a Kings of Tomorrow track; Another Day, with a great Missy Elliott dub of Bring the Pain whereby we close with Random Factor's Without You remixed by the Inland Knights.

Thanks to all those who have given requests. Stay tuned for more upcoming podcasts by diplomatico!

DU8SHOW is back! Underground Sessions featuring Classic House!

Hey everyone, many apologies for the long-hiatus but we're back on and we're making a few changes. Due to a new concept site that we're working on for 2010, the DU8SHOW podcast will continue for the remainder of the year (approx. 5 more episodes) but since we're restarting the entire show next year, the Podcasts will be lettered (Podcast A, Podcast B, etc.) until we start anew.

As mentioned, I did have some technical issues to tend to for the past while but the changes we made in this department will not affect the overall format of the show. We're still playing the best in house, we're still twittering our great work and we're still keeping the community open for anyone take part and have their voice heard. While we were gone we received an amazing amount of support and we look forward to rolling out the new changes. We also give big thanks to all those who had us in their thoughts while we were gone. And finally, I do apologize for not having the archives up but we're still working on a solution to get the entire back-catalogue of all of our shows and special sets from the new site to the blog. Unfortunately this might require more time but as always, requests for previous shows can be made to me at greenhausrecords (at) gmail (dot) com.

With that said, here is the DU8SHOW Podcast A for the month of December. As a tradition, I usually put out an underground classic house CD just as December is starting and this is well in the vein of what the trademark diplomatico sound is really all about and I'm sure you'll love it. Keep listening!

DU8SHOW delayed until Mid-November: Details

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but we're working on some critical issues, mostly technical, with both the blog and the show and therefore we will be further delayed in bringing the next episode of the DU8SHOW. We are continually making efforts towards improving the show in every way imaginable and we hope that you keep tuning in as we work to post some back episodes.

So what's the deal? Well, during the past few weeks, we've been thinking of ways to implement proposed changes that we wanted to see on the site including a variety of show format changes but we found it incredibly difficult to roll-out while the show was still going on. We consistently review user feedback and as such, our plans to upgrading the site became much more involved as we worked with resolving common back-end issues while as time went on.

We here at the DU8SHOW are an ambitious bunch and we want only the best for the fans while paying close attention to maintaining a high-quality podcast for all those who love house music. We can't wait to show you some of the changes that we have in store for the site as we are always evolving into something better and with time, making the DU8SHOW into something bigger. This short-hiatus can give those who are just joining us a chance to catch up on all previous episodes and I'll be sure to personally have a collection of some of the best episodes of this year posted in the coming days.

Thanks for supporting us and, as always, feel free to contact us with any questions or comments at greenhausrecords (at) gmail (dot) com.

Hey everyone, I have a special treat for you. I recently did my second guest spot on DI.FM on my good friend's DJ Medieval's Alchemy Sessions, Episode 013. Medival throws it down every 4th Tuesday of each month on the Progressive Channel and we have amazing colabs. The following set is the past show aired just recently and it contains some amazing tracks including a heavenly first hour mix by the man himself. I come in on the second hour and throw down some soulful stompers with a bit of dirtiness to it to make things interesting. Our colabs are always a hit so give it a whirl and enjoy these two amazing sets back-to-back.

DU8SHOW pres. The Designer Mixes 2009 Louis Vuitton Sets!

Louis Store - deviantart.com

Hey party people, to bring the weekend into full swing, I have two brand new Designer Sets with the ultra-popular Louis Vuitton collection with the ‘LV-Lectro’ series. Let’s begin:

For the main set, I’ve brought some amazing remixes with the likes of Dennis Christopher, Christian de Hugo, Ian Carey, Fukkk Off, and a new Stephen Hinz mix of some huge tracks. I’ve also included one of my person favourites that’s just tearing up dancefloors everywhere called Why Don’t You by Gramophondzie, definitely one HOT track. I’ve also put in some new John Dahlback, Marks, Laidback Luke, and Zagazound tracks that’ll make this set on the best of the summer yet.

For the Afterhours set, I’ve surely put some bump in the mix with a couple of revivals like AVH’s The Funk Phenomena, ATFC’s Bad Habit 09 set of re-rubs, some D&G, Robbie Rivera, and a Tainted Love remix from Gianluca Motta. Of course, I cannot do afterhours without some Carl Kennedy & Johnny Gleeson, Chris Ortega & Thomas Gold, Jose Nunez & Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero, Dave Darell, Edison, Bart. B. More, Mobin Mastter and a sweet Kevin S. Original track aptly called Afterhours.

The Designer Sets have always been the mark of the latest and greatest of diplomatico and the DU8SHOW brings them in full-swing with the Louis Vuitton mixes with the utmost authority. I’m not done for this weekend so stay tuned for more amazing sets! Enjoy!

Hey everyone, I’m unleashing one of my marquee club mixes with an exclusive Underground Sessions set. Bringing the absolute best of house music with a huge variety of common artists and industry approved tracks that are played the world over mixed together in trademark diplomatico style. Here we go:

Introducing the set will include classics such as Martin Solveig’s Linda, Jark and Prongo’s Shake It Baby!, P.J.’s Happy Days, Grand Menage’s Magalenah, Inner City’s Big Fun, Lil’ Louis’s Lonely, and Stephanie Mills’ Latin Lover. Of course, guiding these amazing tracks are of course, Knee Deep’s French Love, Wawa’s massive Chain of Fools remix, an exclusive remix of a familiar favourite with Music for the Pushchairs by Small Phat One, Kenlou’s Sensational Beats Vinyl B-side, Shawn Christopher’s Don’t Lose the Magic remixed by Miki Moto and Bobby Blanco, a huge Steve Angello remix of Moby’s Raining Again, and a masterful remix of Warren Clarke and Kathy Brown’s Over You. Truly inspiring.

Lastly, I closed the set with Rock with You by the late Michael Jackson as a humble tribute. I understand that the DU8SHOW might not be the outlet for a full-blown MJ tribute but let it be known, his passing has affected all of us at DU8SHOW and while we mourn one of the greatest artists who ever lived, we along with musicians around the world celebrate the music that changed the game forever. We will miss you Michael Jackson, we are still rocking with you.

Rest in Peace, MJ.

Anniversary Show: DU8SHOW Episode 50 (Opening Set)!

Beautiful Woman by sadbab (deviantart.com)

Hello everyone, today I'm posting up the opening set for the anniversary edition of the DU8SHOW podcast. There will be two more sets that will be posted throughout the week. Let's begin:

In the past year, I've built both a blog and a podcast out of a simply formula; diplomatico spinning the best in house music, in a simple format with no MCing or over-wrought ads for those who are fans of the genre. The concept was built off of a previous blog which I started on Opera called 'diplomatico - spinning the best in house' and then making it into a music podcast on Blogger.

Over the course of a few months, it started to gain a larger audience which inspired me to expand on the site's design to include some beautiful art from deviantart.com and to start syndicating the show on other music blogs and internet radio shows - the latest being DJ Medieval's Alchemy Sessions 010.

The DU8SHOW quickly became a fan favorite and soon started receiving rave reviews, an 8.0 rating on Blogged, and attracted hundreds of follows via Twitter, 2000+ followers going strong. Today, I present one of the first of three sets for Episode 50, a milestone that was the product of years of DJing to build on the same simple winning formula. And we're not done yet.

Today, I'm officially announcing that there are some ambitious projects to be arriving in the coming months that will built on the podcast and be featured on a new website that I'm building (currently in Alpha-stage right now) and will be previewed in the coming weeks. I will also be 'resetting' the podcast for this new project but a complete back catalogue as well as full DVD of the best shows will be available on BitTorrent.

I'm pleased to bring you the opening set and I would like to thank all those who continue to support us. The DU8SHOW is going to be bigger and better throughout the summer and into fall and I can't wait to bring another 50 episodes of the best house music in the world. The people have spoken, DU8SHOW is one of the best up-and-coming house music podcasts around and soon, I will be bringing my live performances and more special mixes onto the blog as well. Stay tuned!

Party for the Weekend! DU8SHOW Episode 49 (Funky Essentials Mix)!

Harlequin by bazpringle (deviantart.com)

Hey everyone, it’s Friday and it’s time for the lead-up to our first year anniversary here at the DU8SHOW and today I have a private essential mix featuring some beautiful club music starting with some funky house and then going into some electro-infused tribal to give a little bump in the sound. There is no playlist for this set but there are a couple of familiar favourites like some Deep Dish, Paul Johnson, Midnight Society, Gregor Salto, Cajmere Wray, Mario OchoA as well as Peter Gelderblom and Renes Ames with some added surprises.

To lay out some plans for the upcoming episode of DU8SHOW, we are going to be bringing the 50th Episode in with a bang with two special mixed sets including some links to Torrents that will have a complete back catalogue of the DU8SHOW and special edition mixes that I’ve made in the past three years. While I’ve posted a great deal of mixes over the past year and that might seem like a lot, there are a lot of sets that people have missed out on because of Sendspace’s limits on how long files are hosted and therefore the Torrent strategy is a welcome feature of the DU8SHOW blog that will give everyone a way to check out some of the best mixes in the archive. This and more coming up in the next couple of days. Enjoy!

Polka Dots by AstridT - deviantart.com

Happy Friday, House Lovers! On this beautiful day in downtown Toronto, I bring you guys Episode 48 of the DU8SHOW, mixed for the club-heads out there. diplomatico brings a special Toronto Electro House Mix with some of the best tracks you’re going to find anywhere. They’re club essentials that have been proven to put a little step into your collection.

I start with some soulful vocals with Barbara Tucker’s One in a colab with Peter Luts, a great Belocca and Soneec remix of Pray for More’s Shame, and I just get warmed up with some Till West and DJ Delicious with Same Man. Then it brightens up with the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams remix by Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso going straight into a retro classic; I’m Satisfied by Scoper and Bubba for the ladies. I delve deeper with an amazing Deep Dish remix from the archives dating back to 2005!; the DC boys remix Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing (truely sublime!). Cut back into the groove with a Richard Dinsdale electro track with Wray vocalling Pulling me Under mixed right into the amazing Jerry Ropero and Denis the Menace remix of the Shapeshifters' Incredible just to keep the energy for a House Mogul remix bomb of Daft Punk’s One More Time.

Closing up, I’ve brought in some deep classic electro house, bringing the soul back with a Joi Cardwell classic, What It Feels Like remixed by Quentin Harris and then to a beautiful Sacha Williamson groove with Sorry by BitterSuite.

If this mix makes it to you car, you’ll be glad that you’ll have something on the way. Stay Tuned for more sets coming soon, enjoy!

Special Industry Edition set of DU8SHOW Underground Sessions!

Alicia Keys by pure andrea (deviantart.com)

Hey everyone, it’s been a long time coming and I’m ready to bring one of the first bit of Underground Session sets for the summer with a nice touch of beautiful house music. I’ve started with some edgy electro and tech sounds whilst banging in some real club hits with a special Industry Edition mix to keep the DU8SHOW rolling.

Some new tracks I've inserted comes from Jose Delgado and Kelly Pink's Esa Batucada, Spencer and Hill's latest Housebeat track and Harry Choo Choo Romero's rework of his latest Dentro De Mi with a sweet 'Jersey'-inspired rub. Of course, Industry mixes always have some of the faves like Green Velvet's Shake and Pop, LCD Soundsystem's monster Time to Get Away, a spectacular Chus and Ceballos remix of London 909's Shake You Booty, the much loved DJ Pedro and Oliver Berger version of Miami Machine's masher of Queen's Another One Bites the Dust, and lest we forget Gregor Salto and DJ Madskillz' remix of Axwell's I Found U. Closing up I steer a little progressive by whipping up Sharam's Original smash Get Wild and some Gabriel and Dresden retooling of Replay The Night by 68 Beats.

I'll soon be dropping some of DU8SHOW's biggest mixes for the Summer soon so be sure to keep checking in with the site as much as you can and don't forget to get us on Twitter for the latest updates and exclusive mixes. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Goodness from the Archive!

Hey everyone, big changes are coming to the site very soon so the DU8SHOW will be delayed a bit. This week, I’m going to be bringing some mixes in from the archive and these three are sure to please. Soon, I’m going to have Torrents available for all back episodes of the DU8SHOW so that I can fulfill some visitor requests. I appreciate all the feedback so far and I’m still playing around with designs so things aren’t final as of yet. Stay tuned!

DU8SHOW 2.0 BETA - Site Upgrade

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick note about some of the visual upgrades that I'm making to the blog as you can see here. I just applied the template and I'm going to be working out the kinks over the course the next few days so you might see it change a couple of times or some of the links not exactly working. Let me know what you think!

DU8SHOW pres. Electro Superstar! 09 - Industry Edition Mix!

Hey everyone, the weekend is here and it’s a looking to be quite nice as we head into sunny and blue skies. Today, I’m bringing a treat as I’m unleashing yet another fan-favourite Industry Edition set with the Electro flavour. It brings some really big tracks and quite a number of club essentials in a neat little package; definitely a keeper.

To begin, we start with the essentials like Muzzaik’s Black Power and a great Milk & Sugar remix of Yves Murasca’s All About House Music. Then, I dropped a track that was a staple in the early rise of Electro House with a huge Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso remix of Dark Side of the Moon by legends Ernesto & Sebastian easing into yet another slick remix by DJ Pedro and Oliver Berger of The Miami Project’s update to Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust. I sail into some more serious electro tracks with Teo Moss and Sebastien Benett’s Rock U Up, a well-liked Adam K. And Dataworx tune called Pushin and I close with a crazy Vandalism rework of the shouting Latinas from 3rd Face with Canto Delia Liberta.

In closing, I’d like to say (quite loosely) that changes are coming very soon to the podcast and blog so be sure to keep your Twitter and Facebook tuned in to be a part some historical events happening with the DU8SHOW. Right now we’re working on a number of back-end issues to host a database of all of the podcasts as well as finalizing the planning for a new show format. Official Announcements are coming soon so don’t forget to keep checking in. And P.S., the next DU8SHOW will arrive this weekend. Thanks for visiting!

Electro and Tribal House to the Max: Lobby Essentials (Cheaters Club Mix)!

As the weekend winds down, I have a brand new Lobby Essentials set called the Cheaters Club Mix. This mix is a bit of an adventure for the electro fans and since it has been a while since I threw down some tribal house, I fused it in with some pretty solid tracks to keep you moving throughout the week.

First off, since I don’t usually play tribal, it would be fitting that I mention these tracks first: we have some D-Formation remixed by a master of his craft; Victor Calderone remixing a rare track called The Third Dimension, Jesse Garcia has always been a tribal favourite with his ultra-popular Tribal Spain series bringing you Vol. 6 called Talkin’ About House, and you guys know I like to put in some Deep South with the original Miami fix of Tribal America. With this kind of tribal, you of course need some Wally Lopez remixing some Tiesto and you can’t go wrong with Chus & Cebellos with a really sweet track called So Far Away off of the original vinyl. All of this great tribal is wrapped up in some pretty nice electro with a huge Raul Rincon remix of Yves LaRock’s Rise Up, an Axwell remix bomb of Pharrell’s Angel, Laidback Luke tweaks a nice TV Rock vibe with hidden gem Duke of Windsor’s The Others and nothing goes into heavy tribal set like some Robbie Rivera where I put in some Mario OchoA (8A) with the megahit; The Dubai Track.

This set is a great party set as it is one of the essential sets for you collection and is definitely a keeper. Not many of my sets have such a mind-bending mix of Electro, Tribal and ending off with some banging latin house tracks; I mean, I have Saxo at the end! (When was the last time you raised your hands to that beat?) Enjoy this set and don’t let anyone make you turn it down!

Electro Hits in the Mix: DU8SHOW Episode 47 (Elemental Club Mix)!

Hey everyone, March and spring is upon us and for the first show of the month, we have DU8SHOW Episode 47 – The Elemental Club Mix. We have some upbeat electro club bangers to have you dancing your butt off.

First we have a revisiting of an old techno track called Sweet Dreams remixed by Chris Ortega and Thomas Gold by Recover, Funkagenda’s rework of Seamus and Haji’s Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, a rare Cedric Gervais Ibiza remix of This Is Miami which turn Sander Kleinenberg into a megastar and then a crazy Harry Choo Choo Romero mixup of Morillo’s Waiting in the Darkness. Then, I changed it up with Bodyrox’s breakthough smash-hit Yeah Yeah by way of the masters of Full Intention, a GnR mash-up of Welcome to the Jungle by Dirty Funker, a fairly new track by Ralph Falcon and a colab with Charlie Solana with Show, one of my personal favourites by Noir with All About House Music and lastly, Emma Hewitt vocals an amazing club track called Carry Me Away produced by one of the industry’s finest; Chris Lake.

diplomatico brings the heat, Latin style: DU8SHOW Episode 46 (Latina Heat Club Set)!

Hey everyone, it’s time for Episode 46 of the DU8SHOW and following up Friday’s Designer Set, I’ve done another great latin house set that will sure to keep you dancing non-stop. The Latina Heat Club Set is one of my marquee latin house sets which those who have heard me live know all too well as I’ve included that absolute essentials that should be played in a club to get the night started and well into the beginning of the pick-up for electro or even tribal.

This set includes some well known tracks including a dance remix of Aventura’s Obsession, the Sergio Flores remix of Yves LaRock’s hit Zookey and Armand van Helden’s Entre Mi Casa. Other tracks that might garner some attention would be a Major Boy’s gem called Panamerica and Barillas’ Andale giving the latin house vibe with some degree of authority. Rounding off the mix is a rare Afrika System track called Anikanao, a way-back playback house version of Lambada and of course we can’t forget the classic house smash-hit Shake It from Jark and Prongo from the yellow vinyl we DJs all remember. Yes, mine’s still scratched to hell.

I’m pleased to bring you these great latin house sets and they truly are lost gems as Electro has taken over and going above and beyond everything in the scene today. But those who know what to start the night off with, especially on a boat party or patio, will go with the latin house essentials and these are the tracks that’ll sure please the crowd, guaranteed. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, the weekend is finally here and I have an amazing set for you guys as I’m bringing the next Designer set of 2009 with the Gucci Samba Mix! This has some ‘booze cruise’ latin house inspired tracks for those who have a small yacht that want to have their party bumping. In diplomatico tradition, this mix is sure to please.

First we have some familiar favourites like a Pablo Martinez remix of Afro Medusa’s Beautiful Think, Cevin Fisher’s remix of Oreja’s Vazilando, an exclusive Ups Extravaganza mix of Bel Amour, Olav Basoski’s Waterman, and even Mojo Project’s Free; one of my personal favourites. Rounding out the set in Gucci style are Ney De Castro’s Ba-tu-ca-da with the Pete Heller treatment, Danny Lewis’ Ballistica, an underground Copyright Tool remixing The Columbian Drum Cartel’s The Shipment, club favourite Cha Cha Heels by Rosabel and a diplomatico exclusive mash-up of Axwell’s Watch the Sunrise with Kenlou!

This is a high-energy mix and therefore it is best enjoyed played really loud with some dancing partners who know how to party. This is how we do in Toronto!

diplomatico brings Toronto Soul with DU8SHOW Episode 45!

Hey everyone, we apologize for the short hiatus but we’re pleased to bring you Episode 45 of the DU8SHOW called the Toronto Soul Mix. It’s a great vocally soul-inspired set with some familiar favourites and some obscure remixes that you might not have heard before.

First we bring some Beach Soul with a favourite in the chillout circles; Fade by Solu Music and we ease into the hugely popular Lost by Roger Sanchez. We bring in the big tracks with the Max Graham re-work of Owner of a Lonely Heart, with Back to Basics from the Shapeshifters, Madonna’s Hung Up, a Michael Gray club essential Be My Friend by Scape and a lost gem that I found in my collection with Mylo’s amazing Kylie remix of I Believe In You – this was a special edition vinyl with a full color picture of Kylie all over the front. (Us DJs would probably remember that Mylo’s remix on the record was challenging to find in a dark DJ booth, good times)

The Toronto Soul mix is a bit of how we in the T. Dot mix it down with the essentials and would definitely serve to be a staple in any house music collection. Enjoy!

DU8SHOW Episode 44 (Legacy Set): Massive Electro House Club Set!

Creative Process by unknown (deviantart.com)

Welcome House Lovers, I hope you’ve been enjoying your week so far. Today I have for you a huge Club set from a brand new sleeve for 2009 called ‘Legacy’ which is a representative of the high-energy live club mix that I put into the DU8SHOW for Episode 44.

The Legacy Set is the work of some of finest club house tracks that you’ll find today and for those who are in the know, the tracks that are being played out today. I, of course, put a little bit of a diplomatico slant by compiling an amazing set that will have you dancing non-stop, so keep this as an essential mix in your collection.

To start off with, I put in some recent club bangers including a new song from The Hamptons Simple and the latest from one of the fathers of Tech House, Antoine Clamaran with Gold remixed by Digital Mode – which those two alone are excellent tracks just to have in your setlist. I’ve rounded it off with a Chris Lake edit of Axwell and Steve Edwards’ Watch the Sunrise, a D.O.N.S. and Terry B. You Used to Hold Me remix from TV Rock, and a massive Mobin Master prime-time monster of Sweet Mercy’s Reach Out vocal’d by Rowetta. I then completed the set with some of favourites that were requested from some visitors including the Diamond Life remix by Anthony Cazorla bringing forth the Pryda vibe, an ATFC remix of Dirty South’s Let It Go and of course, a track you can never seems to age, Royksopp’s 49 Percent remixed by Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.

The Legacy sets are soon going to be the most sought after exclusive underground Electro sets coming from the industry standard compilations of my Electro Superstar! Series. Definitely not a set to miss, Enjoy!

This is an evolution of the DU8SHOW but I feel that I'm not completely satisfied with it. For one, it's not the mixes themselves, it was adapting the mixes to a different medium. The reality of making anything on YouTube is that you have limits on how long videos can be. As a result, I had to split the files up to get it up and running. I tried to split the mix as best as I can but I have alternatives for those who want the music by itself.

If you would like full video and MP3 versions of the songs, email me @ greenhausrecords@gmail.com - and I'll be happy to send them to you.

I intended the videos to be very simple, like the format of my regular podcasts, as well as have some color.

DU8SHOW Episode 42 is a special edition of the podcast that will be featured on YouTube. There are three mixes with a special compilation of songs that I feel are representative of the type of house music I play and of course, something that brings the essence of the DU8SHOW.

These are promotional videos that I created with some of the work I do on this site and I will only release one more video in this format. In the next couple of days, I'm going to release a video version of DU8SHOW Episode 22 (Sunrise Mix). So stay tuned!

All three mixes are featured on my YouTube Artist Channel here. For more information on these mixes including links to all parts of the mixes including a tracklisting, click here.
