Hey everyone, the arrival of the next DU8SHOW, Episode 13 is bringing another sweet latin mix.  I've compiled some of the best dancing, underground latin house from DJ Sneak, Alan Barratt, Armand van Helden and Louis Vega.  Those who know their house will feel right at home with this set.  Also, there are some great remixes by Blaze, David Pacheco as well some sweet DJ Sneak remix salsa action happening.  Summer is almost coming to a close here in Toronto but we're still having beautiful weather and surely, a lasting latin house set will keep us city party people kicking into September.

Party for the Weekend: The DU8SHOW Podcast B - Funky House Essentials!

Hey party people! In time for the weekend I'm bringing a nice funky house mix today with a great mix of the essentials that are sure to keep you dancing in the best way possible. The DU8SHOW Podcast B is a Funky House compilation that is great for a relaxing drive home or to get yourself in a partying mood for the early evening. Let's get started:

I've started it out with one of my favorite house-mixed artists, Jamiroquai with Blow My Mind, a Dr. Kucho staple remixing Bamboola Production's Bahia, a rare-gem by little know group; Flanders bringing By My Side, some Gregor Salto and DJ Madskills treatment of the hit Very Nice People track called I'll Make You High. Then we bring in some latin flavor through Knee Deep with a remix of the Dubtribe Sound System's hit; Do It Now, then we go into a nice Dawn Tallman gem called I'm Over It, then we have an amazing Fred Everything remix of a Kings of Tomorrow track; Another Day, with a great Missy Elliott dub of Bring the Pain whereby we close with Random Factor's Without You remixed by the Inland Knights.

DU8SHOW is back! Underground Sessions featuring Classic House!

Hey everyone, many apologies for the long-hiatus but we're back on and we're making a few changes. Due to a new concept site that we're working on for 2010, the DU8SHOW podcast will continue for the remainder of the year (approx. 5 more episodes) but since we're restarting the entire show next year, the Podcasts will be lettered (Podcast A, Podcast B, etc.) until we start anew.

As mentioned, I did have some technical issues to tend to for the past while but the changes we made in this department will not affect the overall format of the show. We're still playing the best in house, we're still twittering our great work and we're still keeping the community open for anyone take part and have their voice heard. While we were gone we received an amazing amount of support and we look forward to rolling out the new changes. We also give big thanks to all those who had us in their thoughts while we were gone. And finally, I do apologize for not having the archives up but we're still working on a solution to get the entire back-catalogue of all of our shows and special sets from the new site to the blog. Unfortunately this might require more time but as always, requests for previous shows can be made to me at greenhausrecords (at) gmail (dot) com.

With that said, here is the DU8SHOW Podcast A for the month of December. As a tradition, I usually put out an underground classic house CD just as December is starting and this is well in the vein of what the trademark diplomatico sound is really all about and I'm sure you'll love it. Hey everyone, I’m unleashing one of my marquee club mixes with an exclusive Underground Sessions set. Bringing the absolute best of house music with a huge variety of common artists and industry approved tracks that are played the world over mixed together in trademark diplomatico style. Here we go:

Introducing the set will include classics such as Martin Solveig’s Linda, Jark and Prongo’s Shake It Baby!, P.J.’s Happy Days, Grand Menage’s Magalenah, Inner City’s Big Fun, Lil’ Louis’s Lonely, and Stephanie Mills’ Latin Lover. Lastly, I closed the set with Rock with You by the late Michael Jackson as a humble tribute. I understand that the DU8SHOW might not be the outlet for a full-blown MJ tribute but let it be known, his passing has affected all of us at DU8SHOW and while we mourn one of the greatest artists who ever lived, we along with musicians around the world celebrate the music that changed the game forever. We will miss you Michael Jackson, we are still rocking with you.

Main Sets for DU8SHOW Ep. 50: Celebrity Mixes!

House Lovers, it’s time for two more great mixes for the Anniversary edition of DU8SHOW Episode 50 to end a great weekend with diplomatico. These sets are part of a special Celebrity mix set that I’m rolling out exclusively for this week including the Celebrity Soul Mix and the Celebrity Club Set which has a number of some of the greatest house tracks both old and new.

For the Celebrity Soul Mix, I’ve included some familiar favorites like a Dr. Kucho remix of Bahia by Bamboola Productions, Cerrone’s Tattoo Woman remixed by Jamie Lewis, a rare Shapeshifters mix of Candi Staton’s You Got the Love, an amazing DJ Spen and Karizma remix of Kathy Brown’s Over You, a beautiful Michelle Weeks track called Come Together with an exclusive Joi Cardwell deep soul mix called Change the World. diplomatico brings Toronto Soul with DU8SHOW Episode 45!

Hey everyone, we apologize for the short hiatus but we’re pleased to bring you Episode 45 of the DU8SHOW called the Toronto Soul Mix. It’s a great vocally soul-inspired set with some familiar favourites and some obscure remixes that you might not have heard before.

First we bring some Beach Soul with a favourite in the chillout circles; Fade by Solu Music and we ease into the hugely popular Lost by Roger Sanchez. We bring in the big tracks with the Max Graham re-work of Owner of a Lonely Heart, with Back to Basics from the Shapeshifters, Madonna’s Hung Up, a Michael Gray club essential Be My Friend by Scape and a lost gem that I found in my collection with Mylo’s amazing Kylie remix of I Believe In You – this was a special edition vinyl with a full color picture of Kylie all over the front. (Us DJs would probably remember that Mylo’s remix on the record was challenging to find in a dark DJ booth, good times)

The Toronto Soul mix is a bit of how we in the T. Dot mix it down with the essentials and would definitely serve to be a staple in any house music collection. Enjoy!

Essentials in the Mix: DU8SHOW Episode 10!

Hey guys! Today's show is a good set of essential latin-inspired house tracks that would be great for anyone's playlist. I also added in some extras like MAW's Harddrive 2000 with Never Forget, Yves LaRock's Zookey/Lift Your Leg Up and Nalin and Kane's awesome Beachball track that will bring back some good memories. I wanted to showcase a special track that I used to play in the club but never heard anyone else played it, Havana Funk's Bakiri Ban. There was an excellent Dub Version which has a consistent Timbale line that was reminiscent of the River Ocean song with India way-back-when. If you like the track, try getting the Major Boys Remix which was a nice electro remix of the track that you rarely hear from latin house anthems. All in all, great set. Enjoy!

Hey guys, I should first say that I’m sorry there weren’t any posts in the past week but I have a bunch of good stuff today. The past week I’ve been taking some time to relax a bit and to put some work into a couple of new projects I have going on. I guess I was putting so much time into it that I never realized that it’s been so long since I posted and the day that came for me to actually put something up was inevitably, Valentine’s Day. It’s supposed to be a good day for the lovers but...for the singles, it’s a mixed bag. I mean, I would love to rant about my love life as I’m single in the city but I have always felt that the best outlet for undesirable memories of previous love interests was music. Music has always been the answer for me and I’ve managed to make it quite useful in the situations which involved matters of the heart as it served me well after break-ups and related incidents in dating. Then again, sometimes the power of music just fuels existing relationships in some way or another, especially if your primary creative outlet is music. Anyways, Episode 8 has an interesting mix of familiar favourites that some of you might know and if you don’t, it’s a nice history lesson. P.S. There’s bit of an unusual delay in the Jamiroquai Megamix which I’m really sorry about and I’ll make sure I’ll have it up as soon as possible. Cheers!
