Beta Updates - DU8SHOW v.01 BETA

Here is an overview of some of the updates made to DU8SHOW:

DU8SHOW now v.01 BETA

As this blog is in a testing phase, the first revision makes this version 'v.01' and all updates included will reflect the number changes until official release.

Updated Theme

I included a new theme called "Rounders 3" to add some life to the site. The previous 'Minimal Black' was a little too dark for my liking so I spruced it up.

New Page Elements

I revised a sidebar element which contained a brief introduction. This, of course, will not be permanent as I intend for this particular section to have detailed information about the site to help new visitors. For now, it's a good introduction.

Site Feed Added:

I added a feed from 'diplomatico' from Opera which will allow me to post exclusive information for this site. The addition of the site feed maintains a parallel operation of both sites until I dismantle the old site and focus more of the new features on the new site. Watch for more feeds to be included in the near future.

Background Fixes

With both AdSense and Analytics, I had to go back to the drawing board and play around with the HTML which was rather difficult. It has become apparent that there needs to be more work done in this section. For the time being I have implemented AdSense among the entries but it won't allow me to distribute more ads within the page. I'm still looking into that but if nothing can be added, then AdSense will most likely be implemented between posts permanently. As for analytics, I have been experiencing some problems with receiving traffic information and this has been a milestone for the site. Once I get a handle of what kind of traffic I'm getting from the site, I will be able to finalize the layout and feature set towards an official launch.

Upcoming Fixes

There is a lot of work that has yet to be done for the site. For one, the show itself will be marred by a simple hosting problem which limits accessibility of the show. The maximum time a link from Sendspace to a file for the show is 7 days, sometimes going for as long as two weeks. I am still searching for a hosting solution for the show but at this time, anyone who is willing to host the show and relating mini-episodes are more than welcome. Since I am in a transition phase from Opera to Blogger, there are some things that I want to add to the page to make it more robust. Of course, since the limited availability of the show is hindering it's progress, other ideas that I had for entries such as articles and added information about the show will be included for the next while. The main problem is that I can't get a read on any traffic on the site as of yet and hopefully after this latest tweak, I'm going to be able to implement the changes that rely on the traffic in the next few days. Visitors are more than welcome to advise changes, critiques and suggestions for future Megamix shows. More to come soon, stay tuned!
